The Osborne Computer Corporation was an American computer company and a pioneering maker of portable computers. It was located in Hayward, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1981 Adam Osborne and Lee Felsenstein developed the first mass-produced portable computer in the world, the Osborne 1. The company was the maker of that machine and is recorded here as an organization distinct from the Osborne 1 computer itself and from the people who founded it and designed its hardware.
