Northern Central Railway

The Northern Central Railway was a Class I railroad in the United States, established in 1855 through the consolidation of earlier lines and headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. It connected Baltimore with Sunbury, Pennsylvania, along the Susquehanna River, a route completed in 1858, and later operated for over a century as a subsidiary of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Much of its Maryland trackage was washed out by Hurricane Agnes in 1972, after which it became a fallen flag railway under Conrail and then Norfolk Southern Railway.
