The North Eastern Railway was an English railway company incorporated in 1854 through the combination of several existing railway companies under the North-Eastern Railway Company's Act. It was amalgamated with other railways to form the London and North Eastern Railway at the Grouping of 1923. Its main line survives today as part of the East Coast Main Line between London and Edinburgh.
