Netflix, Inc. is an American streaming entertainment company headquartered in Los Gatos, California, founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph as a DVD-by-mail rental service. It launched its subscription video streaming service in 2007 and grew into one of the world's largest streaming platforms, producing and distributing original films and television series alongside licensed content.
