Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. is an American real estate investment trust headquartered in Germantown, Tennessee, founded in 1977 and converted to a REIT in 1994. It owns, develops and manages apartment communities concentrated across the Sun Belt region of the southeastern and southwestern United States, significantly expanded by its 2016 merger with Post Properties.
