Lotteria is an East Asian fast food restaurant chain that opened its first restaurant in Tokyo in 1972 under Korean-Japanese businessman Shin Kyuk-ho, whose Lotte conglomerate also gave the chain its name, combining Lotte with cafeteria. The chain later expanded into South Korea in 1979, where it became a locally adapted alternative to Western fast food competitors through menu items such as kimchi burgers, and it now operates under Lotte Corporation in Korea and under the Japanese company Zensho in Japan, with additional franchises across Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Lotteria's Korean headquarters are in Geumcheon District, Seoul.
