The Lostwithiel and Fowey Railway opened in Cornwall, England in 1869 to carry china clay and other minerals from the St Austell area. Financial difficulties forced it to suspend operations in 1880, and it did not reopen until 1895 after purchase by the Cornwall Minerals Railway. Passenger service ran only intermittently and was withdrawn on January 4, 1965, but the line remains operational today exclusively for freight, carrying mineral traffic to Carne Point.
