Loblaw Companies Limited is Canada's largest food retailer, founded in 1919 by Toronto grocers Theodore Pringle Loblaw and J. Milton Cork, who pioneered the self-serve grocery store concept in North America. Headquartered in Brampton, Ontario, and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the company is controlled by George Weston Limited, the Weston family holding company chaired by Galen Weston Jr. Loblaw operates about 22 regional and market-segment banners plus pharmacy, banking and apparel divisions with roughly 220,000 employees, and reported 2024 revenue of 61.014 billion Canadian dollars and net income of 2.275 billion Canadian dollars; its private-label brands include President's Choice, No Name and Joe Fresh.
