Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings, widely known as LabCorp, is an American clinical laboratory company headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina, one of the two largest clinical laboratory networks in the United States alongside Quest Diagnostics. It was formed in 1995 through the merger of National Health Laboratories and Roche Biomedical Laboratories, combining two established clinical testing businesses into a single nationwide operator. LabCorp performs a broad range of routine and specialized diagnostic tests for physicians, hospitals, and health systems through its network of laboratories and patient service centers, and it also operates a substantial clinical drug development and contract research business supporting pharmaceutical companies.
