Klosterbrauerei Andechs is a monastic brewery operated by Benedictine monks of Andechs Abbey in Andechs, Upper Bavaria, Germany, producing the Andechser range of beers. The earliest documented reference to beer being brewed there dates to 1455, and the brewery is the only monastic brewery in Germany that brews Bock beer year-round for nationwide distribution, producing over 100,000 hectolitres annually and serving beer at an on-site restaurant and biergarten in addition to distributing throughout Germany and internationally. Proceeds finance the monks' charitable activities, including assistance programs for homeless people in Munich, without relying on church tax funds.
