The Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad is a shortline railroad based in Wichita, Kansas, operating about 820 miles of track across the midwestern United States into Colorado, despite its name owning no trackage in Oklahoma. Watco took over its operations on June 29, 2001 after acquiring the assets of the Central Kansas Railway, itself a merger of the Kansas Southwestern Railway, from OmniTRAX, and the K&O now operates as a Watco subsidiary.
