Henninger Brewery was a major brewery in Frankfurt, Germany, whose origins trace to Eberhard Stein's 1655 brew house. Bavarian brewer Heinrich Christian Henninger joined the business in 1873, it became a stock company in 1881, and it took the name Henninger-Brau AG in 1935; after the Second World War it pioneered canned beer in Germany and had grown into the country's third largest brewery by 1966. Ownership passed through Reemtsma and Gebruder Marz before the company collapsed in 1996, with production ending on December 20, 2001, when Binding Brauerei acquired the brand and the Frankfurt site was redeveloped, including demolition of the landmark Henninger Tower in 2013.
