Greggs is a British bakery and fast food chain specializing in on the go savoury and sweet food such as sausage rolls, sandwiches and doughnuts, founded in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne in 1939 by John Gregg. Still headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, the chain has grown to about 2,500 stores across the United Kingdom, expanding beyond its traditional high street presence into convenience and drive-through formats, and it is listed on the London Stock Exchange as part of the FTSE 250 index.
