General Motors of Canada Company, commonly known as GM Canada, is the Canadian subsidiary of General Motors, headquartered in Oshawa, Ontario. For over a century it operated car and truck plants in Oshawa and other Ontario towns, building Chevrolets, Pontiacs and Buicks, and in 2018 General Motors announced the closure of its Oshawa plant, then in 2020 its reopening in 2022 to build the GMC Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado.
