Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., commonly known as Geely Holding, is a Chinese multinational automotive conglomerate headquartered in Hangzhou, China. The company was founded by, and is privately owned by, the Chinese entrepreneur Li Shufu. Geely was founded in 1986 as a refrigerator parts company, transitioned to motorcycles in 1994 and entered the automotive industry in 1997, and the holding company was founded in 2003. As of 2023 the company ranked 225 in the Fortune Global 500 list, and in 2025 the group produced 4.1 million vehicles globally, including 2.3 million plug-in electric vehicles. It sells vehicles under the Geely, Lynk and Co and Zeekr brands, with subsidiaries and joint ventures such as Volvo Cars, Polestar, Proton, Smart and Lotus.
