Erdinger

Erdinger, formally Privatbrauerei Erdinger Weissbrau Werner Brombach GmbH, is a German brewery founded in 1886 by Johann Kienle in Erding, Bavaria, and renamed Erdinger in 1949 by owner Franz Brombach, who had acquired it fourteen years earlier. It specializes in wheat beer and describes itself as the world's largest wheat beer brewery, producing 1.80 million hectolitres in 2015 across fourteen beer varieties sold throughout Germany and the European Union. Franz's son Werner Brombach led the brewery from 1975 until his death in August 2026, and since 2015 the company has also marketed its alcohol-free beer as a sports recovery beverage.
