EOG Resources, Inc. is an American energy company engaged in the exploration and production of petroleum, natural gas and natural gas liquids, headquartered in Houston, Texas and incorporated in Delaware. The company originated as the oil and gas division of Enron, becoming independent in 1999 under chairman and chief executive Mark G. Papa and adopting the EOG Resources name at that time. EOG is the largest petroleum producer in the Eagle Ford Group and holds significant acreage across multiple United States basins, including the Permian and Powder River basins, along with smaller international operations in Trinidad and Tobago and Canada. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange as EOG, is a member of the S&P 500, and reported revenue of about 22.6 billion dollars and average daily production of roughly 1.23 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2025.
