Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited is an Indian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Hyderabad, one of India's largest producers of generic medicines and active pharmaceutical ingredients. It was founded in 1984 by chemist Kallam Anji Reddy, who had previously worked in India's state-run pharmaceutical sector before starting his own company to manufacture bulk drugs and later branded and generic formulations. Dr. Reddy's became one of the first Indian pharmaceutical companies to pursue aggressive research into generic drug development for regulated markets such as the United States and Europe, and it now manufactures and markets generic drugs, active pharmaceutical ingredients and, increasingly, biosimilar medicines across dozens of countries. The company also maintains a domestic branded generics business within India.
