Domino's Pizza, Inc. is an American pizza restaurant chain headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, one of the largest pizza delivery companies in the world by number of locations. It was founded in 1960 by brothers Tom and James Monaghan, who purchased a single pizza store in Ypsilanti, Michigan, called DomiNick's, and renamed it Domino's Pizza in 1965 after opening two more locations, with the three dots on its logo originally representing those first three stores. Domino's built its early reputation around fast delivery, popularizing a thirty-minutes-or-free delivery guarantee that the company later discontinued over safety concerns, and it operates today primarily through franchised stores that sell pizza for delivery and carryout.
