Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma is a major Mexican brewery founded in 1890 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon by Jose A. Muguerza, Francisco G. Sada Muguerza, Alberto Sada Muguerza, Isaac Garza Garza and Joseph M. Schnaider with initial capital of 150,000 pesos. Heineken International acquired its beer operations in January 2010, and the company now operates production facilities in seven Mexican cities, employing 20,000 people and producing about 30.9 million hectolitres annually, generating roughly 5 billion dollars in revenue in 2010. Its brand portfolio includes Dos Equis, Sol, Bohemia, Superior, Carta Blanca, Noche Buena, Indio, Casta and Tecate, with Dos Equis achieving particular recognition in the United States through its advertising campaigns.
