CSL Limited

CSL Limited is an Australian biotechnology company headquartered in Melbourne, one of the world's largest producers of blood plasma-derived medicines and vaccines. It was founded in 1916 as Commonwealth Serum Laboratories, a government-established body created to give Australia domestic capacity to produce vaccines, antivenoms and other biological medicines, and was privatized in 1994 through a public share listing. CSL's main businesses are its plasma products division, CSL Behring, which collects blood plasma primarily through its own network of collection centers, and its vaccines division, CSL Seqirus, one of the world's largest influenza vaccine manufacturers. The company also owns Vifor Pharma, a specialist in iron deficiency and kidney disease treatments, acquired in 2022.
