CRH plc is a building materials company founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1970, its name an abbreviation of Cement Roadstone Holdings, formed by the merger of two Irish companies, Cement Limited and Roadstone Limited. It grew through decades of acquisitions into one of the largest building materials producers in the world, supplying aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt with major operations concentrated in North America and Europe, and it moved its primary stock market listing to the New York Stock Exchange in 2023.
