Country Garden Holdings Company Limited is a Chinese property development company headquartered in Foshan, Guangdong province. It was founded in 1992 by Yeung Kwok-keung and grew rapidly during China's property boom of the 2000s and 2010s to become, at its peak, mainland China's largest residential property developer by sales volume, building large scale suburban housing developments across hundreds of Chinese cities. Country Garden became one of the most prominent companies caught in China's property sector debt crisis beginning in 2021, defaulting on international bonds in 2023 amid a broader collapse in Chinese property sales, alongside the already-live China Evergrande Group.
