Costco Wholesale Corporation is an American membership-only warehouse-club retailer headquartered in Issaquah, Washington, founded in 1983 in Seattle by James Sinegal and Jeffrey Brotman. It merged with the rival warehouse chain Price Club in 1993, and grew into one of the largest retailers in the world by revenue, selling a limited range of bulk goods at low margins across large no-frills warehouse stores.
