Costa Coffee is a coffeehouse chain founded in London in 1971 by brothers Bruno and Sergio Costa as a coffee roastery that expanded into retail cafes, later owned by Whitbread from 1995 before The Coca-Cola Company acquired it in January 2019 for 4.9 billion dollars. Headquartered in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire, England, Costa operates roughly 4,000 stores across 38 countries and describes itself as the largest coffeehouse chain in the United Kingdom and the second largest in the world.
