Chubb Limited is a global insurance company incorporated in Zurich, Switzerland, formed through the 2016 acquisition of the Chubb Corporation by ACE Limited, with the combined company taking the older Chubb name. The Chubb Corporation itself traced to an 1882 marine underwriting firm founded in New York by Thomas Caldecot Chubb and his son Percy Chubb. Today the company underwrites property, casualty and specialty insurance for individuals and businesses in dozens of countries, and is one of the largest publicly traded property and casualty insurers in the world.
