BMW Plant Araquari is the BMW Group factory at Araquari, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, which opened in 2014. It assembled the sedan and wagon models of the sixth generation 3 Series, the F30 and F31, for the Brazilian market, where high import duties make local assembly worthwhile. It is BMW's first production site in South America and builds a range of cars for local customers. The site lies in the north of the state, and the plant builds cars both for the home market and for export to neighbouring countries.
