Barrick Gold Corporation is a Canadian mining company headquartered in Toronto, founded in 1983 by Peter Munk. It grew through the 1980s and 1990s into one of the world's largest gold mining companies by production, operating mines across the Americas, Africa and elsewhere, and its portfolio has expanded to include significant copper production alongside gold.
