Amazon Air

Industrials

Amazon Air, often branded Prime Air on its aircraft, is a virtual cargo airline whose main purpose is carrying Amazon packages, although it also sells cargo capacity to third parties through ad hoc, charter and blocked space services. It is called virtual because, until January 2021, it relied on wet-leasing aircraft from other operators. At that point it planned to own some aircraft directly, while still depending on other firms for crew, maintenance and insurance leases on the planes it owns. In 2017 it was renamed from Amazon Prime Air to Amazon Air, to distinguish it from Amazon's separate autonomous drone delivery service, which carries the Amazon Prime Air name, although the Prime Air logo remains on the aircraft.
