Agricultural Bank of China, also known as AgBank, is a largely state owned Chinese multinational bank headquartered in Beijing, established in July 1951. It is the second largest bank in the world by total assets after the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, serving some three hundred twenty million retail customers and two point seven million corporate clients through nearly twenty four thousand branches across mainland China and financial centers including Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, New York and Singapore. The bank offers banking, asset management, insurance, credit card, mortgage and wealth management services, and in 2010 it completed what was at the time the world's largest ever initial public offering, raising twenty two point one billion dollars on the Shanghai and Hong Kong exchanges. It is majority owned by the state through Central Huijin Investment and China's Ministry of Finance and is designated a systemically important bank by the Financial Stability Board.
