Adventure Consultants is a New Zealand-based mountaineering and adventure travel company headquartered at Lake Hawea, founded in 1991 in Christchurch by climbers Rob Hall and Gary Ball. It offers guided treks, wilderness journeys and climbing expeditions, including commercial Mount Everest ascents, and became widely known after its 1996 Everest expedition, during which co-founder Hall and several clients died in a storm, an event later chronicled in Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air.
