Joseph Portelli is a Maltese entrepreneur and real estate developer, born on 21 May 1977 in Canada to a family from Nadur, Gozo. He began his career as a small-time property agent, known locally as a sensar, in his home village before building a portfolio of real estate and hospitality ventures, including J Portelli Projects, Menfi Ltd, Excel Sis, and Quaint Boutique Hotels. He has also served as president of Maltese football clubs, leading Nadur Youngsters FC in two spells and Hamrun Spartans FC from 2020.
