Clarence Gilbert Taylor (September 8, 1898 to March 29, 1988) was an early American aviation entrepreneur and co-founder of the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Corporation, later named the Piper Aircraft Corporation, in Rochester, New York. He was the designer of the Taylor Cub aircraft, which led to the creation of the Piper Cub, one of the most popular airplanes in history. He co-founded the company with his brother Gordon in 1927, and after investor William T. Piper bought the assets in 1930 and later bought him out, he left to start Taylorcraft Aviation in 1935.
