Allen Michels (1941 to 2024) was an American business executive and the founder of Convergent Technologies and The Dana Group. He held management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Intel before co-founding Convergent Technologies in 1979, an OEM vendor whose computers were resold by other manufacturers. He served as CEO until 1985, when he and other executives left to form The Dana Group, renamed Ardent Computer in 1987 because another company already used the name Dana Computer, and Ardent built Titan graphics workstations. He came out of retirement in 1993 to join Dean Snow as a founder of Macinstitute, and he died in 2024 near his home in Mahwah, New Jersey.
