Strepsils

Strepsils is a brand of throat lozenges manufactured by the British company Reckitt Benckiser, used to relieve discomfort from mouth and throat infections. It was originally developed by Boots Healthcare as a mouthwash in 1950, with the lozenge form introduced in 1958; Reckitt Benckiser acquired the brand when it purchased the Boots Healthcare portfolio in 2006. The name comes from Streptococcus, the bacterium responsible for some sore throat infections, and the product is now sold worldwide by Reckitt Benckiser.
