Panchagavya is a traditional mixture prepared from five cow-derived ingredients, used in Hindu ritual and, under the name cowpathy, in Ayurvedic medicine. Its Sanskrit name means five cow-derivatives: the three direct constituents are cow dung, cow urine and milk, and the two derived constituents are curd and ghee, which are combined and fermented together. The finished mixture carries significant religious and cultural importance in Hindu practice.
