HBO Max (rebranded simply Max in 2023) is a subscription video streaming service launched by WarnerMedia in May 2020, combining HBO's premium cable programming with the wider Warner Bros. film and television library. Its 2022 merger integration under Warner Bros. Discovery, and repeated rebranding, made it a widely cited example of the volatility and consolidation among streaming services during the "streaming wars" period of the early 2020s.
