Bazooka (chewing gum)

Bazooka is an American bubble gum brand introduced in 1947 by the Topps Company of Brooklyn, New York, shortly after the Second World War, with a name likely borrowed from the rocket propelled weapon the US Army had developed during the war. It originally sold for a penny in red, white and blue wrapping, and became widely popular starting in 1953 when Topps began including small Bazooka Joe comic strips inside each wrapper. Ownership has since passed from Topps to Fanatics, Inc. and then, as of October 2023, to Apax Partners, and the brand has expanded internationally with additional flavors.
