Aerial work platform

An aerial work platform (AWP) is a mechanical device used to provide temporary access for people or equipment to areas that are otherwise hard to reach, usually at height. Commonly known as cherry pickers, bucket trucks, boom lifts or scissor lifts, these machines differ from permanent fixtures such as elevators in their temporary, flexible use, and are typically limited to lifting less than a ton, setting them apart from most cranes. Many can be set up and operated by a single person, and some models include electrical outlets or compressed air connectors for power tools, or frames for transporting window glass.
