Visa Initial Public Offering

Initial Public Offerings

In March 2008 the payments network Visa Inc. completed an initial public offering that was, at the time, the largest in United States history, raising roughly 17 to 19 billion dollars. The offering converted Visa from a bank owned association into a publicly traded corporation and came just months before the onset of the broader 2008 financial crisis.
