Wood Industry

The wood industry, also called the timber industry or, when referring mainly to sawed boards, the lumber industry, is concerned with forestry, logging, the timber trade, and the production of primary forest products and wood products, along with secondary products such as wood pulp for the pulp and paper industry. Some of the largest wood producing companies are also among the biggest owners of forest land. The wood industry has historically been, and continues to be, an important sector in many economies.
