National Boss's Day is observed every year on 16 October in the United States. It was registered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski, a secretary at State Farm Insurance in Deerfield, Illinois, who chose the date because it was the birthday of her own father, for whom she worked. The day is meant to encourage better relations between managers and the employees who report to them.
