Antonino Neil Pappalardo (1942 to 2026) was an American technology businessman who founded Meditech, a Massachusetts supplier of information system software for hospitals. Born in Rochester, New York, to Sicilian immigrant parents, he studied physics and electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated in 1964. He then joined Massachusetts General Hospital, where he worked in the laboratory of Dr. G. Octo Barnett on a hospital computer project with Bolt Beranek and Newman, and he was credited as one of the original co-developers of the MUMPS programming language and system. He co-founded Medical Information Technology, later known as Meditech, which opened for business in August 1969 in East Cambridge and later moved to Westwood. Pappalardo served as chief executive and president until 1994, when he became chairman, and he remained founder and board member. From 1999 he supported the Pappalardo Fellowships in Physics at MIT.
