Tim Ellis is an American aerospace engineer, the co-founder and former chief executive of Relativity Space. He grew up in Plano, Texas, and studied aerospace engineering at the University of Southern California, where he and Jordan Noone held leadership positions in the Rocket Propulsion Lab. After three internships and then a full-time job at Blue Origin, where he brought metal 3D printing in-house, he co-founded Relativity Space in 2015 to build fully 3D printed rockets. The company raised 650 million dollars in a Series E round in 2021. Ellis stepped away from the chief executive role in March 2025 and remains a co-founder and board member.
