Franklin Davis Robinson (January 14, 1930 to November 12, 2022) was an American aeronautical engineer and the founder of the Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance, California. He served as president, chief executive officer and chairman of the company for many years. He was born in Carbonado, Washington, and his occupation is given as entrepreneur and aeronautical engineer. He is known as the designer of the Robinson R22, R44 and R66 helicopters.
