Håkan Samuelsson

Founder and Executive

Håkan Samuelsson (born 19 March 1951) is a Swedish businessman, born in Motala, Sweden, who was chairman of the executive board and CEO of Volvo Cars Corporation AB from October 2012 to January 2022, and was previously CEO of MAN SE from January 2005 to November 2009. He began studying at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1972 and obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1977 he joined Scania AB in Södertälje, Sweden, in the field of braking systems design, became director of Powertrain in 1988, and was appointed to the executive board of Scania in 1996.
