Anheuser-Busch InBev completed its roughly 100 billion dollar acquisition of rival brewer SABMiller in October 2016, combining the world's two largest beer companies and creating a single brewer responsible for roughly one in every three beers sold globally. Regulators in multiple countries required significant divestitures, including SABMiller's stake in the U.S. joint venture MillerCoors, to approve the deal on competition grounds.
