Invitation Homes Inc. is an American real estate investment trust headquartered in Dallas, Texas, founded in 2012 by the private equity firm Blackstone in the aftermath of the 2008 housing crash to acquire large numbers of foreclosed single-family homes and rent them out. It became the largest owner of single-family rental homes in the United States after a 2017 merger with a similar Starwood Capital-backed company, Starwood Waypoint Homes.
