Deutsche Wohnen SE is a German property company focused on residential real estate. It was formerly a constituent of the DAX index before being downgraded to the MDAX, and in 2021 the already-live Vonovia SE, Germany's largest private residential real estate company, acquired a majority stake in Deutsche Wohnen that has since grown to roughly 87.6 percent, making Deutsche Wohnen a majority owned subsidiary while it remains a separately listed company.
