San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway

The San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway was a Texas railroad incorporated in 1884 and developed by Uriah Lott and San Antonio businessmen as a direct route from the city to Aransas Bay on the Gulf coast, later extended to towns including Boerne, Comfort, Kerrville and Fredericksburg. The company went into receivership in 1890 but recovered in 1892 when Southern Pacific acquired majority ownership, a stake it lost to a lawsuit in 1903 and regained in 1924. In 1934 the Southern Pacific consolidated the railway into its Texas and New Orleans subsidiary.
